  1. The campaign for a second referendum has been dealt a blow by EU Lawmakers

The EU’s top lawyers have said the UK’s decision to leave the bloc cannot be unilaterally withdrawn, in a blow for anti-Brexit campaigners. In a hearing at the European Court of Justice to decide whether the EU’s exit clause can be cancelled by the UK, lawyers from the European Council and Commission insisted that European government had to unanimously agree to any move from Britain to reverse its decision to leave the EU.

2. NASA successfully land the InSight robot on the surfaceof Mars.

NASA rocketed its 789-pound robot toward Mars on May 5, and InSight completed a treacherous 14-minute descent to the Martian surface at 2:54 p.m. ET on Monday. The spacecraft confirmed its safe arrival with a beep — a moment that sent scientists and engineers jumping and screaming for joy in mission control at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California.

3. Tyson Fury is back in action this weekend and has vowed to give his earnings to charity.

4. Donald Trump disapproval rating shoots up in latest poll,leaving GOP concerned for 2020

More Americans than ever dislike the job President Donald Trump is doing in the White House, a new poll indicated on Monday. The latest survey from Gallup showed that Trump’s disapproval rating had shot up to 60 percent. That’s tied for his all-time high and the sharp 7 percentage point uptick from the week prior. Just before the midterm election, Trump’s disapproval stood at 54 percent, according to Gallup.

5. Birth of world’s first gene-edited babies triggersethical outcry

The world’s first gene-edited human babies have reportedly been born in China. Professor Jiankui He claims that by removing a specific gene from the embryos using the CRISPR-Cas9 technique, the twin girls would have a natural immunity to HIV. But it seems the girls have been born in the  eye of an ethical storm, as scientists around the world question the safety,effectiveness and morality of the procedure.
